Announces
Three-Day Workshop
on
"Computational Methods in Molecular Biology"
14 - 16 January 2011
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
In recent times, the advancement in techniques used in biology has manifested the tremendous growth in
Biotechnology, which resulted into the accumulation of large amount of biological data. The information
present in these data is in hidden form and in order to extract the knowledge we need to implement
advanced methods and algorithms of Information Technology. Bioinformatics provides the computational
solutions to the complex biological problems associated with Genome and Proteome of organisms. The
Bioinformatics has enhanced the speed of biological research and dramatically reduced the cost of
research. The workshop focuses on various methods and algorithms that are currently being used by
researchers to solve biological problems. In addition, it will discuss the tools and techniques
implemented in bioinformatics for sequence and structure analysis.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
The participants of the course may be students, research scholars, faculty and industry personnel with background in Life Sciences and/or Information Technology.
TEACHING FACULTY
Besides BISR faculty, eminent guest speakers from renowned Bioinformatics Centres of India will deliver lectures and conduct demonstration on various aspects on Bioinformatics.
